“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. You are the one who’ll decide where to go.”- Dr. Seuss
When I first started photographing people in their happy places, I never knew just how much it would actually change my life.
I started photographing friends and family purely to “find myself” after I was called to attend a horrific and traumatic incident in my ‘other’ job.. That incident nearly destroyed me.
In an effort to return to ‘normal’, I pointed my camera in the faces of family and friends, at every opportunity I could,- and I began to see that photographing other people in their happy moments made me happy again. My smile came back, and slowly but surely I began to heal.
With every photo shoot (& there were a lot!), I started to return to being my “old self” again. Fast forward a couple of years, and here I am!
